Civil Foreman

Job Summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Civil Foreman to lead crews and coordinate daily field work on heavy civil and highway construction projects.

Project Details

The initial project is in Bismarck, North Dakota, with subsequent assignments potentially located nationwide. Work takes place on active highway, roadway, and heavy civil infrastructure sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews and promote safe work practices.
• Interpret plans and specifications, manage excavation work, and apply survey and grade staking.
• Coordinate daily activities with project management to support production schedules.
• Complete foreman reports, review and submit crew timecards, and resolve field issues.
• Communicate with superintendents, project engineers, and other team members.

Required Experience

• Foreman or supervisory experience in heavy highway or civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, safe construction practices, heavy equipment, and construction tools.
• Ability to read construction plans and specifications; valid driver's license required.
• Strong leadership, communication, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and perform the physical demands of an active construction site.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
