Civil General Foreman

Job Summary

McCarthy is seeking a Civil General Foreman to lead field execution for underground utility construction in Northern California.

Project Details

Projects involve underground water, sewer, storm drain, gas, electrical, and telecommunications utilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily work by crews and subcontractors, coordinating equipment and field operations.
• Keep work safe, on schedule, within budget, and compliant with quality requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, utility providers, and municipalities.
• Prepare schedules, reports, and change orders, and support the development of field personnel.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of direct experience leading underground utility construction.
• Experience managing large utility projects from start to completion.
• Knowledge of underground construction, shoring, trench safety, and OSHA and Cal/OSHA requirements.
• Ability to read civil plans and specifications; valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• OSHA 30-hour and trenching and excavation training are preferred. Bay Area experience and English/Spanish bilingual ability are also preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Northern California salary is $150,000, with possible bonus and other benefits affecting total compensation.
