Construction Operations Manager - Simple/Combined Cycle

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Construction Operations Manager to lead execution strategies, resource planning, and operational performance for advanced power-generation construction and service projects.

Project Details

The role supports EPC and service work involving conventional, simple-cycle, combined-cycle, and reciprocating internal combustion engine power projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop workforce, staffing, scheduling, materials, equipment, risk, and cost plans for projects and proposals.
• Lead construction readiness reviews and oversee execution against scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
• Monitor productivity, cost, and project performance while communicating results and implementing corrective actions.
• Coordinate with resource managers, recruiters, clients, subcontractors, alliance partners, project managers, and site teams.
• Review construction execution plans, support constructability efforts, and manage contractual change processes.
• Coach direct reports and lead continuous-improvement and operational-excellence initiatives.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 10–20 years of construction operations experience, including at least 10 years of EPC experience preferred.
• Experience as a Site Manager on at least two major projects valued above $200 million is preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Ability to complete applicable background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record checks.
• Ability to work in construction-site conditions, including outdoor environments, hazardous equipment areas, elevated work, and shifts of up to 12 hours.
