Electrical Superintendent Water EPC Tampa

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is hiring an Electrical Superintendent to lead electrical construction activities for a three-year design-build water treatment facility project in the Tampa area. The role oversees field supervision, subcontractor coordination, productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance.

Project Details

The assignment supports construction of a water treatment plant under a design-build delivery model, with responsibility for the electrical discipline and associated equipment installation and work packages.

Responsibilities

• Direct general foremen, foremen, subcontractors, superintendents, and field engineers assigned to the electrical scope.
• Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly work planning with construction management and other disciplines.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, costs, installed quantities, materials, manpower, and schedule compliance.
• Prepare three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective action plans, job hazard analyses, and punch-list tracking.
• Lead foreman and subcontractor meetings and maintain daily site records.
• Review timesheets, progress payment requests, supplier representatives’ logs, and quantity reports.
• Resolve drawing, quality, safety, scope, and schedule issues while supporting change orders, back-charge identification, and commercial recovery.
• Enforce company safety, quality, ethical, and performance standards and provide supervision, training, and performance management.

Required Experience

• At least 11 years of experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on comparable projects.
• Preferred: 8–15 years leading electrical work on water treatment plant construction projects.
• Previous design-build construction experience preferred.
• Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred.
• Training in cost control, back charges, scheduling, construction management, and contract administration preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to complete applicable pre-employment screening.
• Ability to perform demanding site work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, working at height, and exposure to outdoor conditions.
