Equipment Superintendent (Heavy Civil Construction)

Job Summary

Granite is seeking an Equipment Superintendent to oversee equipment operations, maintenance teams, asset performance, and equipment-related financial results for assigned regional or project facilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct equipment maintenance, repairs, utilization, and safety programs to support project schedules and regional goals.
• Set equipment department objectives and advise field teams on equipment needs and issues.
• Support equipment budgets and purchasing decisions, and coordinate with dealers and vendors on repairs, warranty recovery, and costs.
• Lead shop staffing, training, performance management, and workforce development.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• At least 10 years in construction equipment, preferably in a master mechanic or equipment superintendent role, and 3 or more years of management experience.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, excavation, grading, paving, and asset management.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office and scheduling software; familiarity with Oracle Enterprise One Capital Asset Management is desirable.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to manage people and resources, communicate effectively, and work under production demands.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range is $105,831–$158,746. Benefits include paid leave, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending plans, wellness programs, and a 401(k) match of 100% on the first 6% of eligible compensation deferred by salaried employees, with immediate vesting. Eligible employees and dependents may have access to a PPO plan with premiums fully paid by Granite.
