Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Field Engineer 2 to support field operations on industrial and manufacturing construction projects. The role combines hands-on self-perform work with crew coordination and offers a career path toward Superintendent 1.

Project Details

The Advanced Facilities Group delivers large industrial and manufacturing, data center, semiconductor, and other advanced construction projects. This position supports site execution within the industrial and manufacturing practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, and report on assigned self-perform work and crew activities.
• Prepare daily task plans, lookahead schedules, and updates for the superintendent.
• Support project safety, quality control, inspections, punch lists, and required documentation.
• Assist with cost, materials, equipment, labor productivity, sequencing, and craft coordination.
• Participate in work planning, Lean construction practices, safety meetings, and project reviews.
• Work with craftsmen, foremen, subcontractors, superintendents, and other project team members.

Required Experience

• At least 2 years of construction experience is required.
• Construction supervision experience of 0–2 years is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, self-perform work, labor productivity, Lean practices, crane flagging, and rigging.
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, organizational, and productivity improvement skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and required JE Dunn construction technology.
