Field Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Solar Constructors USA Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to support renewable energy construction projects in Eunice, Louisiana and other project locations. This role offers hands-on exposure to field operations, engineering, project controls, and construction management.

Project Details

The position supports solar construction projects. Assignments may require relocation between projects in Louisiana and other states, including Kentucky, Ohio, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Support site safety inspections, orientations, hazard identification, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate workforce planning with the superintendent and assist with trade contractor management.
• Maintain project documentation and support RFIs, shop drawings, changes, and billings.
• Track self-perform labor, crew sizes, quantities, and labor cost reporting.
• Coordinate third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Help develop, implement, and monitor quality plans and Inspection and Test Plans.
• Mentor field engineers, students, and interns while maintaining strong project-partner relationships.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Up to approximately one year of relevant field engineering or coordination experience is preferred; field internships may count.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, methods, self-perform work, subcontracted scopes, temporary works, equipment, and scheduling.
• Strong problem-solving, written communication, reporting, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
