Field Engineer

Job Summary

PCL Industrial Construction Co. is seeking a Field Engineer to support industrial construction operations in Houston and other listed project locations. The role coordinates field activities, assists project leadership, and helps verify that work follows approved plans and specifications.

Project Details

Projects are focused on heavy industrial construction, with experience in oil and gas or infrastructure preferred. The position may support work in Houston, Abilene, and other locations in West Virginia, Alaska, and North Dakota.

Responsibilities

• Support superintendents, project managers, project engineers, and field crews with daily construction operations.
• Participate in HSE activities, LOTO oversight, site walks, and compliance checks.
• Complete field measurements, quantity take-offs, schedule updates, and progress reporting.
• Maintain drawings, technical documents, site records, and quality documentation.
• Prepare RFIs and assist with change orders, material tracking, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
• Use Advanced Work Packaging and client-specific systems to track project work.

Required Experience

• One to three years of operational experience in industrial construction.
• Understanding of construction scheduling, RFIs, field documentation, drawings, blueprints, and site layouts.
• Experience with field coordination, material tracking, and subcontractor management.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Industrial construction, oil and gas, or infrastructure experience is preferred.
• Primavera P6, AutoCAD, SAP, or other project management software experience is preferred.
