Field Engineer

Job Summary

Tutor Perini is hiring a Field Engineer to support civil construction planning and execution at the Newark AirTrain project site at Newark International Airport.

Project Details

Work supports a bus terminal project at Newark International Airport, with civil construction activities and coordination involving transit agencies and public authorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction and safe work plans, engineering drawings, and shop drawings, and coordinate them with subcontractors.
• Assist the Superintendent with daily operations, work planning, subcontractor coordination, and schedule sequencing.
• Track installed quantities and production, and maintain daily reports, inspection logs, as-builts, submittals, RFIs, and field records.
• Monitor quality and safety, participate in inspections, and coordinate with project teams, utilities, transit agencies, and local authorities.
• Support project turnover and closeout, including punch lists and as-built drawings.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Five or more years of civil construction experience; field or internship experience is acceptable.
• Knowledge of civil/site work such as earthwork, utilities, concrete, and paving, and ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; AutoCAD/Civil 3D or field layout software experience is preferred.
• Surveying equipment familiarity and transportation infrastructure experience are preferred.
