Field Engineer

Job Summary

TPZP, a Tutor Perini joint venture, is hiring a Field Engineer to support delivery of California High-Speed Rail construction package one in Fresno.

Project Details

The Central Valley project spans 32 miles and includes grade separations, viaducts, a tunnel, railroad and roadway realignments, utility relocations, trench sections, and a San Joaquin River crossing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction planning, schedules, subcontractors, materials, and pre-construction activities.
• Monitor field work, check layout and technical compliance, and coordinate with design teams as needed.
• Support subcontract administration, payment records, progress reporting, change management, and claims.
• Coordinate with owners, agencies, consultants, subcontractors, and field teams; address changing site conditions.
• Support safety, quality checks, permits, crossing applications, and project closeout.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of heavy civil construction experience.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current federal and OSHA requirements.
• Project controls knowledge, including cost accounting, estimating, forecasting, and contracts.
• Microsoft Office experience; Primavera P6 and critical path/resource scheduling knowledge preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $95,000–$140,000, depending on experience.
