Field Engineer- Spring 2027 Grads

Job Summary

PCL Construction Services is seeking Field Engineers graduating in spring 2027 to support building construction projects in Glendale, San Diego, and Santa Barbara. This early-career role offers hands-on field leadership, technical coordination, and development through PCL’s training and career programs.

Project Details

The position supports PCL’s California Buildings group and may contribute to high-profile projects that serve communities and clients across Southern California.

Responsibilities

• Support inspections, orientations, hazard correction, and field safety leadership.
• Coordinate workforce planning with the superintendent.
• Maintain project documentation and assist with RFIs, submittals, changes, billings, and trade contractor coordination.
• Track self-perform crews, labor, quantities, and cost-reporting information.
• Coordinate third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Help implement quality plans and Inspection and Test Plans.
• Coach field engineers, students, and interns while maintaining productive project relationships.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Entry-level experience is suitable; field internships may count toward experience.
• Working knowledge of construction specifications, methods, scheduling, equipment, and self-perform or subcontracted work.
• Ability to solve problems, communicate clearly with project partners, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-related software.

Compensation and Benefits
