Job Summary

Barton Malow Builders is seeking a senior General Superintendent and Director of Field Operations to lead field delivery and regional operational excellence for its Southeast healthcare market.

Project Details

The role supports large, complex healthcare construction projects valued at $500 million or more across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida.

Responsibilities

• Direct field execution, safety compliance, quality, logistics, phasing, and project build strategy.
• Lead and mentor project superintendents and construction teams while coordinating with project executives, owners, designers, subcontractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Oversee schedules, trade sequencing, inspections, commissioning, labor harmony, and subcontractor productivity.
• Support estimating, bidding, project pursuits, scopes of work, budget forecasting, change management, and client relationships.
• Provide field reporting, resolve construction issues, and develop future superintendent talent through coaching and lessons learned.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of healthcare construction experience on large, complex projects.
• Experience leading healthcare projects valued at $500 million or more.
• At least 8 years of direct supervision of project teams and trades.
• Regional contractor knowledge and strong negotiation skills for resolving field issues.
• OSHA 30 certification.
