Grade Foreman

Job Summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Grade Foreman to supervise crews performing heavy civil highway construction work.

Project Details

The role supports highway and heavy civil construction, including excavation and grade work.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site crew supervision and make safety a priority.
• Plan and adjust work sequences to support the project schedule and available equipment and personnel.
• Manage crew excavation activities and resolve field issues.
• Understand project plans and specifications, and interpret survey and grade staking using lasers, transits, and GPS.
• Submit weekly time cards and complete daily foreman reports.

Required Experience

• At least five years of foreman or supervisory experience in highway heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices and familiarity with heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and perform physical tasks, including periodically lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Strong motivation, time management, prioritization, multitasking, and attention to detail.
