Grading Foreman

Job Summary

Lead grading crews and subcontractors on heavy civil construction work, coordinating safe and timely field operations.

Project Details

Work includes earthmoving, mass earthwork, grading, site development, and related heavy civil construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate crew schedules, materials, equipment, and work plans with project leadership.
• Lead crew communications and safety meetings, enforce company safety practices, and inspect work areas for hazards.
• Complete crew timecards, daily reports, logs, incident reports, and safety documentation.
• Train and mentor crew members, support performance reviews, and address job-site concerns.
• Monitor work for compliance with project specifications and safety standards, and report delays, changes, or emergencies.

Required Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of foreman, supervisor, or lead-level experience.
• Five years of site development and earthwork construction experience preferred.
• Heavy equipment and heavy civil construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dirt work, grading, surveying, and finish grading; GPS grading and Trimble survey equipment experience preferred.
• Basic computer and email skills; Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
• Ability to read construction plans preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and crew leadership skills are valued.
• Availability to work day, swing, or night shifts, occasionally extended hours, outdoors in varied weather and around heavy equipment.
