Job Summary

PCL Construction Services is seeking an HSE Student to support building projects within its Florida Buildings Group. This temporary student opportunity is available in Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale-Miami for a four- or eight-month assignment beginning in May 2027.

Project Details

The role supports commercial building projects in PCL’s Florida Buildings Group and provides practical experience through project-based health, safety, and environmental work.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of project health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and emergency response programs.
• Help deliver project-specific training and develop hazard identification resources.
• Perform HSE inspections, track corrective actions, and monitor equipment and tool inspection records.
• Review trade contractor documentation and help verify safety compliance.
• Provide HSE information and trend updates, assist with action plans, and support incident notifications and investigations.
• Help maintain positive working relationships with project teams and trade partners.

Required Experience

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or diploma in occupational health and safety.
• Working toward a safety designation.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements, environmental legislation, and HSE processes.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Some familiarity with construction processes and terminology, along with an aptitude for learning new technology.
