HSE Supervisor

Job Summary

PCL Civil Constructors is seeking an HSE Supervisor to lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives for civil infrastructure projects in its East District. The role supports project teams, trade partners, and field leaders while strengthening safety culture and regulatory compliance.

Project Details

The position supports complex civil infrastructure work across the East District, with primary locations in Raleigh, North Carolina; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Norfolk, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Implement and improve project HSE plans, safe-work practices, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Develop and deliver project-specific training and district HSE communications.
• Identify hazards and lead project inspections, audits, and reviews of trade safety plans.
• Evaluate emergency response, site security, and environmental plans.
• Investigate incidents, assess corrective actions, and monitor trade contractor HSE performance.
• Coach and mentor HSE Coordinators and other project personnel while maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in occupational health and safety or a related discipline.
• Recognized safety designation and at least five years of health and safety experience in a related industry.
• Supervisory experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of occupational health, safety, environmental legislation, construction processes, and HSE systems.
• Strong communication, presentation, conflict resolution, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to adopt new technology.
