Janesville Traveling Construction Manager Utility Scale Renewable Energy

Job Summary

Barton Malow Company is seeking a traveling Construction Manager to join its renewables team, overseeing solar and wind projects across Michigan and the broader Great Lakes region. This role leads project engineers and superintendents to deliver utility-scale renewable energy projects on time and within budget.

Project Details

Utility-scale solar and wind projects throughout the state of Michigan and the Great Lakes region. The position is based out of Janesville, Wisconsin, with significant regional travel expected.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction planning and development of Installation Work Packages and Inspection Test Plans.
• Direct subcontractor scope, sequencing, scheduling, and logistics.
• Monitor self-perform and subcontractor performance using productivity tracking and earned value methods.
• Enforce strict adherence to contract documents and construction schedules.
• Resolve construction conflicts, delays, and field issues as they arise.
• Support the Project Manager and Project Controller in forecasting self-perform productivity.

Required Experience

• 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in construction management.
• Commercial construction experience required; solar or wind market experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams of construction staff, subcontractors, and engineers.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• OSHA 30 Hour certification preferred.
