Laborer Foreman 2 (Union)

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is hiring a Union Laborer Foreman 2 to supervise and personally perform field labor work on commercial construction jobsites in Kansas City. This is a working foreman role responsible for managing crew production, safety compliance, and coordination of labor activities across project components.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage labor crews on portions of a project or a small standalone project.
• Set and monitor crew production goals, including tracking units and labor hours.
• Coordinate preplanning activities such as crew sizing, scheduling, materials, and manpower logistics.
• Perform hands-on tasks including concrete prep and placement, carpentry tender work, demolition, material handling, buck hoist operation, and traffic control.
• Develop and implement site safety plans; conduct toolbox talks and job hazard analyses.
• Apply Lean construction principles including daily stand-up meetings and pull planning.
• Coordinate work with other trade foremen and communicate with material suppliers.
• Support quality assurance and control planning for assigned scopes.
• Assist with materials, other costs, and equipment analysis.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years of commercial construction experience required.
• 2+ years of field supervision experience required.
• Intermediate knowledge of crane flagging and rigging.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Lean construction processes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in variable weather conditions.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours as project needs demand.
