LOTO Electrical Superintendent I - Power Delivery

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a LOTO Electrical Superintendent I to lead electrical field operations and energy-isolation activities on power delivery projects. The role directs assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft teams while maintaining a collaborative, safety-focused work environment.

Project Details

The position supports electrical infrastructure including collection systems, underground and overhead cabling, substations, transmission work, and connections to existing distribution networks.

Responsibilities

• Direct lockout/tagout documentation and verify that electrical connections are de-energized and properly identified.
• Coordinate electrical installation, testing, constructability reviews, materials, equipment, and workmanship.
• Lead teams of approximately 6–10 craft workers and coordinate subcontracted work.
• Support schedules, site logistics, equipment planning, project meetings, and three-week look-ahead updates.
• Monitor safety performance, enforce the company safety program, and support incident analysis and OSHA reporting.
• Coach field personnel and maintain working relationships with customers, subcontractors, union representatives, and other site visitors.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years working with high- and medium-voltage equipment, cables, collection lines, and substations.
• At least 13 years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with high- and medium-voltage cable installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair.
• Knowledge of electrical testing methods including Hi-pot, Megger, TTR, Doble, current injection, capacitance discharge, and contact resistance testing.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, duct banks, vaults, transformers, SCADA, transmission, and substation commissioning.
• Current driver’s license and willingness to travel 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $125,600-$188,400 per year, with eligibility for an incentive plan.
