MEP Project Engineer II

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking an MEP Project Engineer II to support field coordination, construction quality, documentation, commissioning, and closeout activities while working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and craft professionals.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications, coordinate MEP systems, and lead 3-D conflict resolution before installation.
• Manage permits, contract documents, RFIs, change orders, submittals, and project correspondence.
• Implement quality plans, testing and inspection procedures, reporting protocols, and three-phase inspections.
• Support commissioning, including startup planning, functional testing, scheduling, and turnover documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractor paperwork, as-built updates, operations and maintenance manuals, training, and project closeout.
• Maintain project timelines and coordinate safety and compliance across the team.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management.
• At least three years of construction experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor.
• Current driver's license and intermediate Microsoft Office, project, and web application skills.
• Working knowledge of construction law and business practices, with strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is $93,400-$126,100, with location-based adjustments in select markets, and eligibility for an incentive plan.
