Project Director - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Director to join its Des Moines water and wastewater leadership team. This senior role combines business development, client engagement, project delivery, and staff leadership for major infrastructure programs.

Project Details

Lead successful delivery of multi-million-dollar water and wastewater infrastructure projects for municipalities, governments, and other water-sector clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead marketing, account development, proposals, client presentations, budgeting, and contract pursuits.
• Manage client relationships and support market, business, and client engagement strategies.
• Oversee engineering managers, project goals, implementation, project reviews, budgets, invoicing, and commercial performance.
• Develop, mentor, coach, and support the advancement of project professionals.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of business development and project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineering License preferred.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater markets, contract negotiation, project financial metrics, and business development.
• Strong communication, presentation, strategic thinking, leadership, and relationship-building skills.

Compensation and Benefits
