Project Engineer 1 - Denver & Colorado Springs

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer 1 to support construction operations in Denver and Colorado Springs. The role offers exposure to project management, field execution, quality, safety, procurement, scheduling, and project closeout.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with field coordination, construction documentation, inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities.
• Assist with estimating, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor proposal reviews, and change management.
• Track labor, materials, equipment, production, deliveries, shop drawings, and procurement requirements.
• Prepare daily reports, progress updates, meeting materials, and other project records.
• Participate in safety, quality assurance, Lean, scheduling, and self-perform construction activities.
• Build effective working relationships with subcontractors, tradespeople, superintendents, and other project partners.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Entry-level construction experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational ability, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, project productivity, Lean principles, self-perform work, and trade scopes.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors, on active jobsites, and during non-traditional hours when needed.

Compensation and Benefits

Professional non-union benefits are provided. Base compensation in Colorado is $72,000-$91,000 depending on experience, with eligibility for a target bonus tied to individual and company performance.
