Project Engineer 1 - Phoenix

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer 1 in Tempe to support construction management and field execution while developing practical knowledge of the building process. The role offers a progression path to Project Engineer 2.

Responsibilities

• Support project safety, quality assurance, estimating, change management, and construction operations.
• Monitor crews, labor hours, materials, quantities, equipment, and field production.
• Assist with punch lists, inspections, safety and quality reviews, meetings, reports, and job site observations.
• Maintain current drawings and specifications, procurement logs, shop drawing tracking, and delivery updates.
• Support scheduling, project closeout, as-built documentation, operations and maintenance manuals, and self-perform work initiatives.
• Build effective working relationships with tradespeople, subcontractors, superintendents, and project team members while applying Lean practices.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Entry-level construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction management fundamentals, construction technology, self-perform operations, labor productivity, trade scopes, and Lean principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written, verbal, organizational, and collaborative communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work non-traditional hours when needed, and perform frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
