Job Summary
PCL Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in Ventura, California, to support the delivery of complex water and wastewater construction projects. This role offers hands-on involvement in project coordination, subcontractor administration, documentation, scheduling, and cost management within a collaborative civil construction team.
Project Details
The position supports critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects for PCL’s Civil West operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate trade partner scopes, subcontract administration, inquiries, progress, and contract documents.
- Support change management, pricing, change orders, and evaluation of cost and schedule impacts.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, as-built records, project archives, warranties, and closeout documentation.
- Track project performance across safety, cost, schedule, quality, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare progress claims and estimates, expedite material orders, and assist with inventory control.
- Support design reviews, site inspections, constructability resolution, code compliance, and project closeout.
Required Experience
- One to three years of construction experience in an operational role is preferred.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, HSE, quality, materials, and applicable standards.
- Ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving principles to field challenges.
- Strong communication, organization, scheduling, time management, multitasking, and subcontract coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn internal operational systems and new technology.
Compensation and Benefits
Estimated salary is $90,000-$111,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
