Project Engineer- Heavy Civil Construction

Job Summary

Support safe, efficient delivery of heavy civil construction work by coordinating project planning, field execution, quality, and documentation with project and field teams.

Project Details

The initial assignment is in Van Wert, Ohio, on active highway, roadway, and civil infrastructure work. Later assignments may be located nationally.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction activities, schedules, budgets, and project communications.
• Review temporary works and construction methods, emphasizing safe execution.
• Provide technical support to field crews and subcontractors, inspect completed work, and coordinate corrections.
• Track progress, quantities, costs, and schedule updates; prepare daily reports and project records.
• Check materials and workmanship against plans, specifications, contract requirements, and approved submittals.
• Support job-site safety practices and coordinate with project managers, owners, and inspectors.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• At least three years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or in a similar heavy civil or highway construction role.
• Understanding of civil construction methods, equipment, materials, OSHA requirements, and job-site safety.
• Strong organization, communication, attention to detail, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Availability for extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays as project schedules require.
