Project Engineer I and II - Structured Cabling

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring Project Engineer I and II candidates to support field coordination and project delivery for its data center structured cabling team. The role requires 100% travel on a rotation.

Project Details

Assignments support data center structured cabling projects, with potential locations including Louisiana, New Mexico, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project documents and coordinate construction information with subcontractors and craft teams.
• Manage permits, project records, quality plans, inspections, testing, and closeout procedures.
• Coordinate submittals, RFIs, change orders, contract documents, and schedule-related material deliveries.
• Mentor field engineers and support safety, compliance, and timely completion of work.

Required Experience

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Project Engineer I: at least 2 years of related construction experience.
• Project Engineer II: at least 3 years of related construction experience.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Project Engineer I base pay is $84,100–$113,500; Project Engineer II base pay is $93,400–$126,100. Pay may vary by location and experience, and the role is eligible for an incentive plan.
