Project Engineer II

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Engineer II to support project coordination, documentation, quality processes, and field issue resolution while collaborating with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and craft personnel.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, specifications, and construction details for subcontractors and field crews.
• Administer quality plans, testing, inspections, permits, fees, and project compliance activities.
• Maintain material, testing, concrete placement, and non-conformance records.
• Manage contract documents, RFIs, correspondence, submittals, transmittals, and document-control procedures.
• Coordinate submittal reviews and expediting to support the project schedule.
• Support closeout and maintain current as-built documentation.
• Mentor field engineers, evaluate work methods, coordinate safety, and track schedule commitments.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management.
• At least three years of related construction experience.
• Strong organization, communication, teamwork, initiative, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Current driver's license.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is $93,400-$126,100, with geographic adjustments available in select markets. The role is eligible for an incentive plan and may include medical, prescription, vision, dental, 401(k) matching, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and wellness benefits.
