Project Engineer KWFS

Job Summary

Kiewit Water Facilities South is seeking a mid-level Project Engineer to oversee the administrative and technical execution of water and wastewater construction projects in the Fort Lauderdale area. This role sits at the center of project financials, scheduling, design coordination, and team development.

Project Details

The district specializes in water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, and desalination plants across the southeastern United States and broader North America.

Responsibilities

• Own project scheduling — create, maintain, and monitor the schedule to keep execution on track.
• Track revenue, costs, and cash flow; serve as the main information conduit between the construction manager and the engineering team.
• Provide technical oversight for temporary structures and coordinate permanent design deliverables for quality and constructability.
• Administer contracts and subcontracts, including change management and compliance.
• Lead project closeout documentation and approvals.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support operational planning.
• Mentor and develop field engineers on the project team.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent field.
• 5+ years of construction or engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing engineers or engineering teams.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to travel and relocate as project opportunities arise.
