Project Engineer Water Projects

Job Summary

PCL Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support field operations on a water and wastewater project in San Diego. The role works with project management and field teams to advance schedule, cost, quality, safety, and daily construction performance.

Project Details

The position supports a water/wastewater infrastructure project and is based at the primary jobsite at 2995 Clearwater Way in San Diego, with daily onsite reporting expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractor scopes, contract administration, inquiries, progress, and change orders.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, as-built records, and other project documentation.
• Support schedule, cost, quality, HSE, progress claims, estimates, and project performance reporting.
• Track materials and equipment, expedite orders, and assist with inspections and constructability resolution.
• Contribute to project closeout, document archiving, deficiencies, warranty manuals, and warranty work.

Required Experience

• One to three years of construction experience in an operational role is preferred.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, methods, drawings, specifications, HSE, quality, materials, and applicable standards.
• Ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving principles, coordinate contracts, build schedules, and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project operational systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated salary is $90,000-$116,500 based on experience and qualifications.
