Project Engineering Manager - Water/Wastewater

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to direct engineering delivery for municipal water and wastewater programs. This employee-owned opportunity combines technical leadership, team development, client coordination, and project controls.

Project Details

The role supports traditional, design-build, design-bid-build, and collaborative delivery projects, including treatment facilities, underground conveyance, plant upgrades, expansions, and carbon-neutral infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and technicians across multiple disciplines and coordinate production activities.
• Oversee engineering deliverables, calculations, equipment and material recommendations, quality requirements, schedules, and budgets.
• Act as the engineering lead for assigned projects and provide technical direction on complex water and wastewater work.
• Manage client communications, resolve concerns, support pursuits, and coordinate project changes with project management.
• Review engineering work while mentoring, developing, and managing assigned personnel.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least five years of related professional experience.
• Consulting experience and work on multidisciplinary water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant upgrades or expansions are preferred.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Successful candidates must complete applicable onboarding checks, which may include background, drug, and motor vehicle record screening.
