Job Summary
Kiewit Power Delivery Engineering is hiring a senior-level Engineering Project Manager to lead planning, coordination, and delivery of transmission, substation, and distribution engineering projects from its Lenexa, Kansas office. The role sits at the intersection of technical leadership and cross-discipline project execution, supporting major utilities and T&D clients across North America.
Project Details
Kiewit Power Delivery is a full-service engineering and construction provider covering high-voltage overhead and underground transmission, distribution, and automation design. Projects serve electric utility, renewable energy, industrial, and oil and gas markets, integrated with Kiewit's broader heavy civil, infrastructure, and power generation capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage staffing plans, schedules, and activities across multiple concurrent engineering projects.
- Lead teams of engineers and designers to deliver project scope on time and within budget.
- Oversee man-hour development, quality management, and risk and change management.
- Implement project controls and conduct periodic reviews to track delivery performance.
- Maintain relationships with owners and design partners while communicating project status clearly.
- Mentor and develop the technical capabilities of design staff.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of industry experience in engineering project management.
- Prior experience as Project Manager, Design Manager, or Engineering Manager with responsibility for engineering, estimating, contracts, and client relations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related role.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of engineering and construction standards, scheduling, and multi-discipline coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook for project control and administration.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
