Project Safety Manager

Job Summary

Ames Construction is hiring a Project Safety Manager to oversee safety practices and monitor construction operations on the Platte Winner Bridge project in South Dakota.

Project Details

The initial assignment is on a bridge project in South Dakota, with future assignments potentially located across the country.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the project safety program, including site policies, procedures, orientations, and safety meetings.
• Monitor heavy construction work, identify unsafe conditions, and stop work when necessary.
• Assess risks, investigate incidents, and analyze project safety statistics.
• Support project setup and cost controls, communicate with clients and subcontractors, and coordinate with the regional safety team.

Required Experience

• At least five years of construction safety supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction.
• OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred; an Occupational Health and Safety degree and Board of Certified Safety Professionals certification are also preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and motivational skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary depends on experience, skills, and knowledge. The role is eligible for a discretionary bonus and includes ESOP participation, a 401(k) match, medical, dental and vision coverage, voluntary benefits, company holidays, and paid time off.
