Safety Specialist 1, Mission Critical

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist 1 to support field safety operations on mission critical and advanced industrial construction projects in Tempe. This entry-level role coordinates routine safety activities under the direction of a supervisor.

Project Details

JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group delivers data center, semiconductor, industrial, and manufacturing projects for technology-focused clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement project safety programs and conduct routine site inspections and audits.
• Document hazards, recommend corrective actions, and track abatement through company safety systems.
• Lead project-specific new-hire orientations and monitor drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Review subcontractor safety practices and participate in project planning and progress meetings.
• Support safety meetings, committees, incentive programs, and accident investigations.
• Assist injured employees with treatment coordination and prepare injury progress reports.

Required Experience

• Zero to two years of construction or related experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, hazard recognition, corrective-action, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and required construction technology.
