Senior Safety Manager

Job Summary

JE Dunn is seeking a Senior Safety Manager in Austin to lead division-wide field safety programs, support project teams, and manage Safety Managers. The role reports to the division leadership structure and offers a potential path to Safety Director.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee safety programs and teams across construction projects.
• Represent the company during OSHA and insurance inspections.
• Lead serious or catastrophic incident investigations and ensure reporting, corrective actions, and abatements are completed.
• Conduct project safety audits, track trends, and recommend program improvements.
• Support drug and alcohol testing, workers’ compensation claims, insurance coordination, and safety reporting.
• Participate in operational meetings and provide safety metrics and claim updates to senior management.
• Support safety training strategy, delivery, technology, and record retention as needed.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, occupational health, construction management, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
• At least 8 years of construction safety experience.
• At least 2 years of people-management experience.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills and working knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.
• Experience with construction safety software, SIMS, MS Office, and related construction technology.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
