Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Raleigh to manage smaller projects or assigned portions of complex construction projects under leadership oversight. The role supports project management, administration, field execution, safety, quality, and project closeout.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, scopes of work, change requests, and subcontractor selections.
• Manage submittals, procurement logs, purchase orders, project schedules, and construction documentation.
• Coordinate project meetings, inspections, quality reviews, safety activities, and owner-architect-contractor discussions.
• Track production, manpower, equipment, costs, risks, subcontractor performance, and project progress.
• Review subcontractor and vendor pay applications and support project administration in CMiC and related systems.
• Lead punch lists, inspections, quality and cost tracking, and final project closeout.
• Mentor team members and apply Lean practices, self-perform planning, and construction best practices.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of construction experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management and accounting software, and construction technology.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods, Lean processes, self-perform work, labor productivity, and project controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at project sites or in an office, lift up to 25 pounds, and work non-traditional hours when project needs require.
