Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Tempe to manage a small project or an assigned portion of a complex construction project under project leadership. The role combines project administration, field coordination, estimating, scheduling, quality, safety, and closeout responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field execution, inspections, quality activities, safety requirements, reports, meetings, and project documentation.
• Prepare estimates, scopes of work, change requests, procurement logs, submittals, schedules, and production reports.
• Select and coordinate subcontractors and vendors, including purchase orders and monthly payment applications.
• Track project risks, productivity, costs, resources, deliveries, and subcontractor performance.
• Lead assigned closeout activities, including punch lists, inspections, as-built documentation, and operations and maintenance materials.
• Support project administration in CMiC and other construction technology platforms while applying Lean practices.
• Build collaborative relationships with project teams, trades, subcontractors, and owners, and provide training and mentorship.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, project processes, Lean practices, self-perform work, labor productivity, and project profitability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management and accounting software, CMiC, and required construction technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, collaboration, and team leadership skills.

Project Details

The assignment includes both project-site and office work in the Tempe area, with responsibilities spanning project management support and field execution.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is classified as Professional Non-Union and includes an employer benefits package. The role may require relocation, travel, non-traditional hours, and work in varying weather conditions.
