Senior Project Engineer - Healthcare Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support healthcare construction projects in Kansas City. The role manages a small project or defined portion of a larger project while coordinating project administration, field execution, safety, quality, and stakeholder communication.

Project Details

Healthcare work requires coordination around patient care, hospital operations, safety, quality, and diverse project stakeholders. Assignments may include project sites and office work.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates, scopes, change requests, procurement logs, schedules, and project documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, purchase orders, submittals, inspections, meetings, and pay applications.
• Monitor field production, labor, materials, equipment, progress, quality, safety, and project risks.
• Support project administration using CMiC and other construction technologies.
• Lead punch lists, inspections, closeout documentation, cost and quality tracking, and completion activities.
• Mentor team members and promote Lean practices, collaboration, and self-perform opportunities.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, project management, accounting software, construction technology, Lean processes, trades, and labor productivity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and manage project priorities.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is classified within JE Dunn’s Professional Non-Union benefits package. Physical work may include lifting up to 25 pounds and exposure to hot or cold conditions.
