Senior Project Manager Commercial Construction

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial construction projects in Kansas City, owning all project outcomes from preconstruction through closeout. This is a senior leadership role within a 100+ year ENR-recognized general contractor.

Responsibilities

• Own overall direction, leadership, and financial outcomes for complex and/or multiple simultaneous projects.
• Lead preconstruction efforts including quantity takeoff, scope development, bid package creation, and GMP development.
• Manage buyout schedule, subcontract issuance, and ongoing subcontractor risk analysis.
• Oversee submittal schedule, shop drawing reviews, and coordination with design team and owner.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules using Lean principles; identify and mitigate schedule impacts.
• Complete monthly cost and margin forecasts; manage pay applications for subcontractors and owner.
• Lead OAC meetings, monthly project reviews, and progress meetings.
• Negotiate change orders, contingency expenditures, and fee enhancements.
• Drive project closeout including punch list, financials, subcontracts, and warranties.
• Champion safety culture and investigate incidents; mentor project team members.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of construction management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Advanced communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, CMiC or similar PM/accounting software, scheduling software, and BIM tools.
• Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy to project execution.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
