Senior Project Superintendent

Job Summary

The Christman Company is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent to lead field operations in Southeast Michigan, with a focus on safe, well-coordinated, high-quality project delivery.

Project Details

The role calls for commercial construction leadership across multiple projects or a single large or complex project, typically valued at $40 million or more.

Responsibilities

• Review design documents for constructability, phasing, site logistics, temporary protection, and field efficiencies.
• Set expectations for site safety, quality, housekeeping, and conduct, and provide safety orientations.
• Coordinate site logistics, project work plans, trade contractors, schedules, progress meetings, and work sequencing.
• Interpret construction documents, guide construction methods, and verify work against contract requirements.
• Coordinate quality planning and overlapping trade work, review critical submittals, and manage punch-list completion.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least 10 years of commercial construction leadership experience as a Foreman or Superintendent, leading multiple projects or a large, complex project.
• Training or coursework in construction management, project management, safety, or communication.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, cost control, job-cost accounting, site requirements, construction methods, and safety leadership.
• Clear communication and problem-solving skills, with experience using Outlook, Excel, Word, Procore, BIM, and Microsoft Project.
