Sitework Superintendent - St. Louis, MO

Job Summary

Barton Malow is hiring a Sitework Superintendent in St. Louis to oversee civil and site development work, coordinate trade partners, and help deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards.

Project Details

The role oversees earthwork, grading, excavation, underground utilities, paving, and other site improvement work.

Responsibilities

• Promote jobsite safety, enforce company policies, and lead pre-task planning for site activities, including excavation and trenching.
• Coordinate sitework contractors and sequence earthwork, grading, utility, and paving activities.
• Manage erosion and sediment control compliance and coordinate site layout, grades, and elevations with surveyors.
• Maintain the sitework schedule and logistics plans, including material hauling and stockpiling.
• Oversee punch-list completion and ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Enforce contract requirements, help prepare trade scopes and supporting documents, and work with the Project Manager to resolve field conflicts.

Required Experience

• At least five years of experience in sitework, civil construction, or a related field, including five years as a superintendent.
• Knowledge of earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and site development methods.
• A four-year technical or engineering degree, or equivalent field experience.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; trenching and excavation competent person training is a plus.
