Job Summary
Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior EPC Project Director to lead the execution of the company’s largest and most complex advanced power generation projects. This employee-owner role carries senior accountability for safe delivery, quality, financial performance, schedule, construction, and client outcomes.
Project Details
The position supports the Power Providers market, delivering engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning solutions for utilities, independent power producers, and other power-generation clients.
Responsibilities
- Direct major EPC projects or project portfolios from engineering and procurement through construction, startup, and commissioning.
- Lead project managers, construction leaders, project controls, commercial, quality, safety, and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Resolve high-risk issues involving construction execution, labor strategy, subcontractors, productivity, schedule, cost, commercial matters, and project recovery.
- Coordinate third-party contributors and maintain contractual compliance, client satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Support new and repeat business opportunities and negotiate key agreements with client executives.
- Ensure appropriate project staffing and provide senior direction across the integrated EPC organization.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically 18 years of relevant experience.
- Senior leadership experience on large, complex EPC projects or project groups.
- Background in construction execution, site leadership, labor and subcontractor strategy, productivity, project controls, commercial risk, project recovery, and executive client engagement.
- Ability to complete applicable pre-employment background, drug-screen, and motor-vehicle-record requirements.
