Sr. Project Manager - Federal Division

Job Summary

Granite Construction is hiring a senior project manager and estimator to lead federal construction delivery and support pursuits for its Federal Division.

Project Details

Manage federal design-build and design-bid-build work, including heavy civil, vertical, and infrastructure projects. The role supports clients such as NAVFAC, USACE, and USCG.

Responsibilities

• Lead federal projects from award through closeout, overseeing teams, subcontractors, design partners, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and risk.
• Develop forecasts, budgets, project controls, and reports while pursuing project profitability and contract compliance.
• Prepare estimates and proposals, review scopes and solicitations, coordinate subcontractor outreach, and support bid and go/no-go decisions.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure project documentation and communications meet federal contract requirements.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of federal construction project management, estimating, or combined experience.
• Experience delivering design-build work for NAVFAC, USACE, USCG, or similar agencies, with working knowledge of FAR and federal contracting methods.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and preconstruction efforts; proficiency with construction management and estimating software.
• A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent heavy civil construction experience.
• PMP, DBIA, or PE credentials are preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearances if required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range is $115,957-$173,935, with pay dependent on experience, skills, location, and education. Benefits include paid leave, medical, dental, vision, insurance coverage, and a 401(k) match.
