Job Summary
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a senior structural engineer for its Temporary Works Group. The role supports construction teams through temporary-works design, structural analysis, constructability reviews, risk reduction, and field engineering support.
Project Details
Assignments may include bridge erection and demolition, heavy lifting, cofferdams, excavation support, temporary bridges and trestles, falsework, construction staging, hoisting and jacking, marine work, and support for transportation and other major design-build projects. The position may be based in one of several U.S. offices, including Denver, Seattle, Lenexa, Woodcliff Lake, Westlake, Omaha, Houston, Manhattan, or Vancouver, with flexible work arrangements available.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review drawings, calculations, construction methods, lifting plans, erection sequences, and temporary support systems.
- Analyze existing and partially completed structures for construction and demolition loads.
- Verify design quality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, client criteria, and structural principles.
- Identify design risks and support mitigation planning.
- Assist with budgets, schedules, quality control, client coordination, and project management.
- Provide on-site engineering and inspection support and mentor engineers-in-training.
Required Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program; a structural engineering master's degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years of relevant engineering experience, including temporary structures or construction engineering.
- Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility in the United States.
- Strong structural engineering fundamentals and experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Mathcad, Navisworks, or RISA-3D.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and access active construction sites in varied environments.
- Availability for overtime, weekends, travel, temporary duty assignments, or relocation as business needs require.
Compensation and Benefits
Base compensation is $110,267-$165,401 annually. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, wellness, employee assistance, life and disability insurance, retirement plans with matching, and paid time off.
