Superintendent 2, Heavy Equipment Solutions (AFG)

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction's Advanced Facilities Group is hiring a Superintendent 2 with a focus on Heavy Equipment Solutions to manage transportation, storage, installation, and removal of heavy construction equipment on industrial, data center, and semiconductor projects.

Project Details

The Advanced Facilities Group covers large-scale Industrial and Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor construction projects across the country. This role supports the Heavy Equipment Solutions / Cartage team, handling complex logistics and rigging operations within that portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Manage all field operations on assigned projects, including safety, scheduling, quality, and subcontractor coordination.
• Lead daily standup and weekly trade meetings; participate in OAC and project review meetings.
• Develop and adjust the project schedule in partnership with the Project Manager.
• Oversee material and equipment procurement, timecard approvals, and cost reporting.
• Manage the care, custody, and control of the project site and self-perform work.
• Support project closeout activities, including pre-punch coordination with owners and architects.
• Identify project risks and recommend solutions; manage deliverables from internal resources including logistics and IPS.
• Participate in project pursuits, buyout meetings, and change-order negotiations.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction experience with at least 3+ years in field supervision.
• Knowledge of crane flagging, rigging, and heavy equipment operations.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and scheduling tools.
• Ability to apply Lean construction principles.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
• Experience with cartage, hoisting, and rigging preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
