Superintendent 3 K 12

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Superintendent 3 with a strong K-12 track record to manage moderately complex school construction projects from start to finish in Kansas City. This role owns field execution, subcontractor oversight, schedule, safety, and quality across the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations including daily standups, trade meetings, and OAC progress meetings.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform work plans from project kickoff through closeout.
• Create, update, and implement the project schedule in partnership with the Project Manager.
• Oversee safety culture, conduct incident investigations, and retrain staff as needed.
• Track project budget and costs using project management cost reports.
• Coordinate site custody and control, material and equipment needs, and timecard approvals.
• Manage pre-punch and closeout activities with the owner, architect, and governing authorities.
• Identify and actively manage project risks and recommend solutions to the team.
• Support business development by cultivating long-term client relationships and participating in project pursuits.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of construction experience with 5+ years in field supervision.
• Demonstrated success leading complex K-12 projects valued at $50M or more.
• Proficiency in MS Office, scheduling software, and project management/accounting platforms.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, trades, and self-perform operations.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Experience with Lean construction principles preferred.
