Superintendent

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Superintendent in Charlotte to coordinate field operations, subcontractors, materials, documentation, safety, quality, and project execution. The role supports timely and profitable completion while progressing toward Superintendent 2.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety efforts, investigate incidents, and reinforce an injury-free work environment.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, company staff, workflow, site logistics, and material and equipment needs.
• Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, reports, logs, drawings, and project documentation.
• Lead daily and weekly coordination meetings and participate in owner, architect, and project review meetings.
• Monitor self-perform work, quality compliance, costs, schedule changes, procurement, and project closeout activities.
• Collaborate with project management and field leadership on staffing, changes, buyout, pre-planning, and contract requirements.
• Support recruiting and promote diversity and inclusion across the project team.

Required Experience

• At least 3 years of construction experience, including 1 year of field supervision.
• High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project management and accounting software, MS Office, quality processes, layout, crane flagging, rigging, and self-perform productivity.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, collaboration, scheduling, documentation, and budget-management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions and non-traditional hours.

Compensation and Benefits

The position is classified as Professional Non-Union and includes a company benefits package. The role may require travel or relocation.
