Superintendent

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Superintendent 2 in Santa Clara to lead the field execution of fairly complex construction projects from planning through closeout. The role oversees safety, quality, scheduling, production, subcontractors, staff, materials, equipment, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, company staff, site logistics, work plans, and daily field operations.
• Coordinate schedules, trade meetings, owner-architect-contractor meetings, project changes, and closeout activities.
• Lead safety efforts, investigate incidents, support quality compliance, and maintain an injury-free work environment.
• Track project documentation, reports, costs, materials, equipment, timecards, and self-perform productivity.
• Identify project risks, support staffing and procurement, and collaborate with project management on schedule and cost impacts.
• Promote teamwork, diversity, inclusion, and the development of strong project relationships.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of construction experience, including 3 or more years in field supervision.
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, project management and accounting software, construction technology, Lean practices, layout, rigging, and labor productivity.
• Intermediate communication, presentation, collaboration, document control, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours as project needs require.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $148,800-$185,999 per year, depending on experience, with eligibility for a target bonus tied to individual and company performance. The position is covered by JE Dunn's professional non-union benefits package.
