Job Summary
PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent to lead building construction operations, coordinate project teams and trades, and deliver safe, high-quality work across Southern California.
Project Details
This position supports PCL’s California Buildings group and may be based in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, or San Diego.
Responsibilities
- Lead site execution, including safety, quality, productivity, workforce supervision, and trade coordination.
- Develop and manage project schedules, critical path activities, project execution plans, and resource-loaded three-week lookaheads.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, estimators, subcontractors, clients, consultants, labor representatives, and site personnel.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and subcontracts while addressing constructability issues, risks, conflicts, and schedule impacts.
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, labor costs, profitability, documentation, and project administration requirements.
- Lead effective site and client meetings and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Required Experience
- Journeyman certificate or related undergraduate or engineering degree.
- NCSO designation required for applicable classifications; Gold Seal program enrollment preferred.
- Approximately 10 years of progressive field supervision experience preferred, including successful construction workforce supervision.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, methods, scheduling, productivity, cost reports, contracts, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Ability to coordinate multiple scopes, resolve conflicts, solve problems, exercise professional judgment, and build effective schedules using scheduling software.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internal operational systems.
Compensation and Benefits
Estimated base salary is $121,500-$170,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
