Superintendent I & II

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking Superintendent I and II candidates to coordinate field operations, supervise project teams and craft activities, and strengthen customer relationships. The level offered will reflect the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Project Details

Mortenson delivers building and EPC work across sports, renewable energy, data centers, healthcare, and other construction markets. The role may support multiple complex projects from development through closeout and may require up to 100% travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate materials, equipment, inspections, site logistics, and project schedules.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability and coordinate with design engineers.
• Supervise project partners and craft activities while leading meetings, orientations, and planning sessions.
• Coach, develop, train, and manage team members, including performance and career discussions.
• Track work progress and task coding while maintaining effective relationships across organizational levels.
• Oversee safety, quality, risk, and compliance activities and identify process improvements.

Required Experience

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil engineering, architectural engineering, or construction management, or 10 years of trade experience.
• Superintendent I requires at least 5 years of construction management or related experience.
• Superintendent II requires at least 8 years of construction management or related experience.
• Current driver’s license and ability to manage multiple project tasks through closeout.
• Basic construction law and business knowledge, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, and strong communication and customer service abilities.

Compensation and Benefits

Superintendent I base pay is $111,400-$167,100 per year. Superintendent II base pay is $130,100-$195,200 per year. Certain office locations have higher ranges, and the position is eligible for an incentive plan.
