Trade Foreman 2 (Union) Ironworker

Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction is hiring a Union Ironworker Trade Foreman 2 to lead field crews on commercial construction projects in Kansas City. This is a working foreman role — you'll swing tools alongside your crew while owning production goals, safety compliance, and day-to-day coordination.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and work alongside ironworker crews to complete assigned scope.
• Set and monitor crew production goals; document daily activities, crew sizes, and labor hours.
• Coordinate preplanning activities including crew size, schedule, materials, and manpower.
• Manage subcontractor crews for portions of the project.
• Lead safety activities including toolbox talks, job hazard analyses, and SIMS reporting.
• Create and implement safety plans and ensure crew compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manage tool and equipment inventory.
• Apply Lean construction principles such as daily stand-up meetings and pull planning.
• Support quality assurance and quality control for assigned tasks.
• Assist with materials and other costs (MOC) and equipment analysis.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of commercial construction experience.
• 2+ years of field supervision experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or technical degree preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of crane flagging, rigging, and layout.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Lean process and philosophy.
